Paul Bonneau "Preambule Musical Vol.1 & 2" Chappell CHA 011 & 012 320K

I thought I would post these 2 records as well.   I don't think they are bad records, they are actually quite beautiful, but I don't think they go well with the trippy vibe of the other CHA series records.  They are mostly solo or duet orchestral samples of various acoustic instruments.  Vol.2 is my favourite of the 2, reminding me of an underwater exploration soundtrack or something.  Anyways, even if just to complete your mp3 collection check these out from my personal collection at 320K. Enjoy, Chris Tillotson                Get Vol.1 Here!             Get Vol.2 Here!

Chappell CHA series Best of Compilation-42 Songs

Alright so these are my favourite jams from the CHA series compiled into 1 folder of 42 songs.   These playlists are pretty popular with my friends that trust my taste, so they don't have to dig through all the sometimes hundreds of albums (Ennio Morricone) to get to the goods.  So, as I'll continue doing, here is my first completist playlist, which should give you a pretty good representation of what you'll  find with the CHA series.  I do this out of love, but if you dig please leave a comment, I'm sure it will make me feel good. Enjoy.Get It Here!

Richard Demaria "A Ecouter" Chappell CHA 010 197? 320K

This album shouldn't require much introduction for any library collector but for others, this is one of the best, definitely a holy grail by my standards.  Every track is killer from heavy psych to experimental electronics, and that production, yes!!!  That is one thing most new music is lacking, interesting production.  How did they get that weird drum sound, it's like untuned trash cans, so sick!   The lead guitar sound on "Next Episode" is so heavy, no wonder it was sampled by Danger Doom.  If you're thinking of buying this at some point get ready to fork out close to about 150 to 200 american bucks unless you're that guy who's always finding shit like this in dollar bins, but with internet searches those days have to be over right.  Anyways, Please enjoy one of my favourite, from my personal collection at 320Kbsp. Charles Orieux "Illustration Songs" Chappell CHA 009 197? 320K

This is the only album i've heard by Charles Orieux, but i do love it.  Doing a discogs search, he does have a few other albums from the 70's  that are labeled as disco of all things, but this album is definitely not disco at all.  I would say they are mostly very groovin jams with a positive sunny vibe.  "England One" is one of the most rocking jams of the entire series with its crazy guitar and drum fills, yet it is plagued by a pretty cheesy middle section.  "Sonia Girl" makes me feel the way a Carpenteners song makes me feel (if that makes sense) with it's synth sweeps and steady beautiful piano stabs.  From my personal collection, check it now! Enjoy! Chris Tillotson

Paul Piot & Alice Malakina "Paul Piot And Co." Chappell CHA 008 197? 320K

Between his dance and mood music and telemusic releases, this is my favourite of his.  Paul and Alice Malakina cover alot of ground here between heavy psych ,Bossa, and Spaghetti Western.  Sometimes this album sounds like Janko Nilovic to me, which is a great thing.  "Yogarhythm" and "Clear Tintinnabulation" are the clear stoundouts to me,  With the latter being so dark and beautiful, if i walked in on a band playing anything like that i might shit my pants, i can only hope.  Anywho, please enjoy another album from my personal collection at 320Kbps, Chris Tillotson Get it Here!

Alberto Baldan Bembo & David Perian "Happy Music And Crazy Music" Chappell CHA 007 197? 320K

Here is the second installment by Alberto Baldan and David Perian for the CHA series and it is just as bad ass as the first.  Every song is is pumped up and groovin with more wacky synth and crazy drums.  I could see it as a Jean Pierre Massiera release or even more current, Instrumental Animal Collective or Deerhoof.  Just like the rest of the CHA series this is a very rare, expensive and sought after record from my personal collection, Enjoy! Chris Tillotson GET IT HERE!

Joss Baselli & Tony Rallo "Rhythm And Melody" Chappell CHA 005 197? 320K

Three great songs on this one,"Syncope and Riffs" "Pic And Poney" and "Ice and Fire". Pic And Poney has that classical scales thing going on that would make Gershon kingsley proud, and i love pretty much anything with a classical funk vibe, you can't go wrong.  This one is also from my personal collection, enjoy.  I'm also gonna go ahead and include a link to Johanna Group's "Strange Love Action" Chappell CHA 006, that i got over at Maiorov Simpletons Library Blog, where he got it from i'm not sure, so thanks to the original uploader.  Get Rhythm And Melody Here!             Get Strange Love Action Here!

B.Kaufman & G.Jerome "Screen And Pleasure" Chappell CHA 004 197? 320K

Here's another one from the CHA series, and there are some really great songs on here.  The main 2 being "Cynthia" & "Marguarita" which sound almost like Alessandroni jams, with there electric piano melody stabs.  There are also some great songs for DJ samples, like the 3 Jingles here. This is from my personal collection ,Enjoy! Chris Tillotson Get it Here!

Jack Arel & Pierre Dutour "Sweet And Pop" Chappell CHA 003 197? Vinyl Rip 320K

Man this one eluded me for quite a while, when i finally got it i was a little surprised by the first few songs, they did  not blow me away, then track 8, "From Saturn To Pluto" came on with its heavy psych out of nowhere and reminded me not underestimate a Chappell CHA release.  Then the rest of the album is just incredible, Nightly Tribulations being one of my favourite jams ever.  So trust me, don't stop listening if you're not feeling the first few songs, it will get better! From my personal collection, Enjoy!

Alberto Baldan Bembo & David Perian "Happy And Crazy Music" Chappell CHA 002 197? Rip at 320K

Alberto Baldan Bembo slays it here with amazing drums, bass, wacky synth, and fuzz guitar.  As the title suggests there is a happy yet crazy vibe.  I also have a few other Bembo albums that i will post later, one being my most valuable record, but until then enjoy this grail from my personal collection. Roger Davy "New Sound Illustration" CHA 001 197? 320Kbsp

A perfect album to start the series off with,  here we have fuzzy guitars and synth over drum machine beats.  Truly strange yet very pop to my ears.  As with all library records this was created for radio, television and movies only.  My favorites here are "Brouillard" which just makes me feel great, and the strangely funky gem, "Roudoudou" Peep the sound clips and sendspace download link. From my personal collection Enjoy!

Chappell CHA Series

For my official first postings, i'll start with my favorite series from the french library label Chappell , The CHA series.  There are 13 entries in the series and except for the Preambule Musical Vol 1&2, they are truly amazing.  It's hard to choose a favourite, but i think Richard Demaria "A Ecouter" is the best and most solid throughout.  Anyways download this shit and see for yourself. Enjoy, Chris Tillotson
