Piero Piccioni "In Viaggio Con Papa" General Music GM 30704 1983 Jazz Funk Masterpiece!

   Been jamming this one tons lately.  I honestly had no idea this was issued on vinyl until I saw it a couple years back.  I've really been diggin these early 80's jazz funk library/OST's lately and this one is a top notch contender, it's got that perfectly clear early 80's recording quality and the ever so cheesy sax solos that either you love or hate, haha.  I would never think this was Piccioni if I heard it, so unlike his 70's outings.  There are so many killer jams on here, it's unreal, try not to shit  your pants when you listen to "Detours" that little synth run throughout is crazy and the pounding of "Foresta PT.2" as well as the weird shredding of "Fuga A Quattro Vortici"  This one is mega rare, only seen it a total of 3 times so be quick cause I know some people that are on the lookout!  Enjoy my rip From my personal collection @320K  GET IT HERE!

Group Meeting AKA Marcabru (Luigi & Rino De Filippi)-"Daybreak"-SP 10062 RCA 1976 Jazz Funk Grail!

  Just one of my favorite records to listen to by Marcabru an alias for Luig De Filippi, son of Rino De Filippi.  This one is credited to Luigi solely on SIAE database but most likely done with his father Rino from the sounds of it.  You really can listen to this from start to finish and oh god let me tell you it is rare and pretty impossible to find.  It has that proggy jazz feel that the Filippis  utilizes on most of their beat driven records like the wildcat and pound release.  First we start with the title track "Daybreak" just amazing and beautiful mid tempo awesomeness, crazy melodys abound.  Next we get, "Gleaming" with that up tempo jazz funk sound ever so popular in the mid late 70's, with just the right amount of synth coming in half way through.  "Hermitage" comes off right away sounding like a sophisticated yes.  Next we get the banger "Fancy" just perfection, cray bassline and sax solo with that flat and perfect Filippi drum sound, AHHH, so good!  "Consortship" sounds like Filippi totally going for a yes melody and one of the most Filippi sounding songs on the record, totally essential good vibes.  Then the B side, man if you thought the A side was dope the B side is even better.  "Racer" is unbelievable melodic and proggy.  "Glide" is golden funk"  "Afield" is back to that melodic Filippi good vibes style.  "Loose" is by far my favorite jam on here, and perhaps top 5 Filippi jams, that crazy technical jazzy piano riff and the insane drumming, whoah.  Last song of note is, "Meek" the most chilled out and stony jam on here, shit what were they smoking in Italy back then, damn!
  To say I enjoy this record is an understatement, next time it hits the market don't sleep and better go big cause it's not everday you see this bad boy.  Enjoy the soundclips and if you don't don't mind a low quality sound it is on youtube in its entirety but if you can, trust me seek out the vinyl it's so worth it!  Chris Tillotson                             TRADE HERE!

Raskovich & Various-Visioni-SM 5017 Monte Carlo 197?

    I was always so curious about this one, from the fact that Sorgini was involved and also that insanely dope record cover so I thought I would share a review on it with soundclips for all you fellow collectors out there.  You'll now have more info than I had going into this purchase.  The weird thing is that all the Raskovich songs on here, mainly the whole side B are not good at all, haha, The real gems are from the other composers like, Zoffoli, Matrisciano, and Palmatau.  "Impressioni Suggestive Nocturne" is a tripped out psychotic floater with super dope tape delay throughout.  "Puma Sax"is a melodic synth driven jam with driving drum machine, I love it.  "Visione Fantastica" is a chilled out synth driven song also with drum machine, very beautiful!  So check out the soundclips and you decide if this obscure and rare as hell record is worth your money.

Sven Libaek "My Thing" PIL 9006 Peer International 1970

      It's so hard to choose a favorite Sven Libaek record but this one is probably mine.  First off it has "Misty Canyon" which many have heard if not for the comps it's been on.  This song came on during an acid trip of mine as I was watching the trees turn into giants and I will never forget it as long as I live, that groove, those chords and that tumbling brass line, Holy SHit!  This record is worth the ridiculous price tag for that song alone but wait there's more.  You have "Sydney Revisited" with it's insanely good sax & vibes, literally, haha!  Also, "Soul Thing" is just classic and the dark and beautiful "Winds of Fall Creek" that should instantly give you goosebumps, sooooo good!  Just a great early 70's library from an incredible 70's musician on the Incredibly collectible label, Peer.  And are those arms coming out of her chest on the cover, very trippy!  Enjoy this rip @320K from my personal collection.  Chris Tillotson        GET IT HERE!

L.Afzelius "Pop Spectrum" LPSG 3001 Studio G 1976 Cosmic Psych Classic!

  So yeah here's one of my favorite library's from the British library label, Studio G.  Complete with fantasticly cheesy 70's cover art these 14 songs are just full of great cosmic pop sounds.  L.Afzelius is an alias for Tim Kross who also released a bunch for JW.   For a bit of information of Studio G catalog numbers there are 4 series with 12 releases in each series.  For the most part the best stuff is found on 1 & 2 of each series with the exception of the 4th series which has nice releases throughout.  So enjoy this very fun record from my personal collection ripped at 320K.  Chris     GET IT HERE!   BUY IT HERE!

Rendezvous Library And Soundtrack DJ Event Los Angeles California

So for anyone that lives in Los Angeles, you should be aware of this amazing night that goes down every second Friday of the month at the Hyperion Tavern.  Some very important people in the scene have performed here like the Finders Keepers guys and Death Waltz guys and local collectors such as Marcellus Wallace & Heru Avenger.  Everyone involved is very passionate about the music and movies and easily approachable if you want to nerd out on record collecting or whatever.  As you can see from the flyer they even had me come and DJ, someone with zero experience as a DJ, haha.  It usually starts at 9:30 and goes till 2:00 AM with a special guest and resident DJ sets while they screen about 3 to 4 horror and erotica movies from the 70's & 80's.  So come out every month and listen to rare records get spun and suport one of the only nights that recognizes our passion, I'll be there for sure.  Check out the soundcloud channel to hear some great DJ sets https://soundcloud.com/rendezvousla

Claudio Valle & Gianni Fallabrino "Music Line N.1 & N.2" Audial 001 & 002 197? Unknown Italian Library Grail!

One of my favorite librarys ever and ever so essential on the mega obscrue Italian Library, Audial.  I don't know shit about this label except that it contains this double LP full of beautiful beat driven dark prog and baroque style awesomeness!  The first LP is composed by Claudio Valle who I've heard a couple of things from before that are also amazing like his Music Scene release and his Usignolo release.  The second LP is by Gianni Fallabrino and is in very much the same style as Valle's offering.  Pretty much every song starts out mellow followed by epic drum pounding middle sections.  The way Valle lays synth over all his compositions is what sets him apart from other Baroque dudes in my opinion, but you also get all the other goodies, harpsichord, fuzz, and great chord changes.  While there are no obvious bangers on this one, Fallabrino's song on C1 is about as close as it gets to one. If you like these 2 songs then make sure you pick this up next time it hits the market cause all 20 songs are in the same vein and just as good., so enjoy a couple songs of this one.  Trades will be considered of course.  Check Pics, soundclip and youtube.  Thanks Chris
